Go out and Visit TRADE FAIRS - Why?

Yesterday, while so many of us were waiting for the presidential debate to start, I was in the Manila FAME's boutique edition where Philippine products such as furniture and home furnishings, holiday gifts and decor, and fashion accessories are exhibited - mainly to match trade buyers to our exporters.  On the Manila FAME's website, one will read: "Crafted in the Philippines, for the World." (http://www.manilafame.com/en/index.php) I usually visit trade fairs when I have time. I always feel proud when I see Philippine made products that are so beautifully designed and crafted.  As a writer of poems, reflections and travel blogs, I am inspired by what I see, touch, and even taste (from a food fair). These pieces I see in the trade fairs would one day end up in far away shores - they will be travelling and will make so many people across the globe - smile, feel relaxed, appreciate what we can create from nature, and perhaps these pieces will contribute to the s...

The Dance of The Fisherman

It was Easter Sunday. Out there in the sea was a fisherman still trying to catch some food for the day - even though the sun was setting. These scenes (photos below) caught my attention and I was inspired to write a poem. This is "the dance of the fisherman". Each step has a message for each of us. Each step - we must learn. I bow down in thanksgiving Acknowledging that a bountiful catch Arises from a myriad causes I will not curse empty baskets I shall nurture the seas I shall help make the sea teem with life  I allow the sun to shine upon me So that each time, when darkness falls I have already gathered enough brightness From within, I shall shine And though the path may be filled with shadows My illuminated mind shall always know the way I welcome everyone Alone, the sea will only be an empty space My journey is made more meaningful Because you are with me Together, we acknowledge O...
